Shaping people to save lives

Nepal is one of the five highly- endemic countries in the world identified by the World Health Organization (WHO), in order to assist Nepal in fighting the dreaded disease, the Asia Pacific Regional Scout Foundation approved the Leprosy Elimination project of Nepal Scouts amounting to US$17,500.
The US$17,500 amount, came from the donations amounting to US$10,000, made by the Girl Guides and the Boy Scouts Aid of Denmark, while the remaining US$7,500 amount was a personal contribution of Mr Herman Hui, former chairman of the APR Scout Foundation.
The money will be used to financially assist Nepal Scouts in educating people on how to lessen if not totally eradicate leprosy in Nepal.
Nepal Scouts, is recognized as one of the 10 NSOs, which are working for the leprosy elimination, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, signed by WHO, WOSM and AHM. Currently, Nepal Scouts has already finished the training materials in Nepali language aside from the continous training they are conducting to the young adults who are working in the district level.
A total of 1,602 trained Scouters and 24,397 Scouts have been educated through the Scout method in the area of personal development and social responsibility.
After the project was launched, Nepal Scouts has so far conducted regional -level training in five regions, namely, Far Western, Mid Western, Western Region, Mid Region and East Region, where a total of 175 people were trained.

thnks for the comment. keep up the comments. there had been lot of projects handled but the output is still hidden. it’s the time to expore it .
